Walter Clark Kizer of San Diego, CA went home to be with the Lord on September 16, 2011.
Walter was born in Muncie, Indiana on July 21, 1961. He lived in Muncie, Indiana until the 1980’s having graduated from Indiana State University with a BS degree in Environmental Health and Safety Engineering. He moved to San Diego in order to begin a career in safety engineering and to become part of a larger church.
Walter is survived by his wife, Candi, father, Mr. Carl E. Kizer Sr., sisters, Mrs. Carlease Chandler and Ms. Deborah Brown and brother, Mr. Carl E. Kizer Jr. and a host of friends and family.
Walt was employed by Alere of San Diego as the Environmental Health and Safety Manager. He began working for Alere and quickly went from safety technician to department manager.
He was a committed member of the San Diego Church of Christ.
He has been a faithful believer for over 29 years.
Walter volunteered to feed and clothe the homeless. He was a leader in the church as a small group leader and core group leader. He loved serving as a children’s ministry worker and enjoyed any way that he could serve God.
Walter was respected and loved throughout the San Diego area and his hometown of Muncie, Indiana. We will miss his smile, his laugh, his compassion for others and his gentleness. Seeing the joy he had playing UNO, playing sports, and spending time with family and friends will be remembered.Walt will surely be missed.
