Biography
Ramona Lee Kabance
Ramona Lee Kabance, 82, passed away on Friday the 27th of January 2012 at her home in Poway, California. Ramona was born on July 8th, 1929 to Ernest and Mary Cooke in Emporia, Kansas. Ramona was married to Wayne Kabance in Webster Groves (a suburb of St. Louis), Missouri on the 25th day of November 1950. They moved to San Diego area in 1955 where they raised their family and lived the rest of their lives, with about 40 of those years in Poway.
Ramona was a homemaker and loved to go camping, draw and create mosaic pictures, do needlework, study the bible, can fruit and vegetables from the garden, and play with her grandchildren. A couple of Ramona’s favorite camp spots are Yankee Meadow Reservoir with rainbow trout, Coyote Canyon, and Dos Cavazos (two Heads), the last two being desert areas with creeks.
Just 2 months ago, Ramona lost her beloved husband of 60 years to liver cancer. Ramona herself survived breast cancer in the early 1990’s.
Ramona is survived by her daughter’s Paula U’Ren and Gail Kabance; her son Michael Kabance, and her four grandchildren; Olivia, Aaron, Cheryl, and Stephanie. She also has three great grandchildren, Hayden, Janelle, and Natalie. She will be missed by many. We love you, mom, nana, and great grandma.
