Albert Peter Lioy passed away in Poway, CA on July 9, 2019.  He was 90 years old.  Al was born in the Bronx, NY on July 2, 1929 to Pietro & Incoronato (Divitto) Lioy.

Albert graduated from high school and began working for a telephone company.  He remained in that field until his retirement.  He had a communications career that lasted over 42 years.

Albert and his wife Donna resided in Cambria, CA for more than 20 years before relocating to San Diego.  They enjoyed square dancing and traveling in their motorhome.   Al liked to work on old cars, restoring his own pickup truck.

He is survived by Donna Lioy, his wife of 38 years; daughters Denise (Reed) Wilcox and Doreen Ramirez; son Richard (Lori) Lioy; stepdaughter Dina (David) Felker; grandchildren Andrew, Jenna (Jeffrey), Rose (Clara), Ryan (Jennifer), Shawna (Phil), Cory, Brooke, Nicole, Rachel (Collin) and Joshua (Megan); great-grandchildren Finn, Jasper, Hailey and Luke.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosemarie Lioy in July 1980 and stepdaughter Robyn Lechler in July 2015.

A private graveside service will be held at Dearborn Memorial Park, 14361 Tierra Bonita Road, Poway, CA.
