Obituary

Amy Marie (Berger) Rodenbeck

September 14, 1963 – August 22, 2022

The family of Amy Marie Rodenbeck of San Diego, California is saddened to announce her passing on August 22, 2022 at the age of 58.  Amy will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Kevin of 36 years; children, Kevin Jr (KC), Grace, and Ben; mother Beth Berger; sisters Karen Berger, Bethie Foster and her husband Andy, brother Dan Berger, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and god children. She was predeceased by her father Frank.

Amy met her husband Kevin at the University of Dayton, and completed her Bachelors degree at San Diego State University. Her career as an accountant for the City of San Diego was followed by her most heartfelt job of raising their 3 children and being involved with their activities. Amy also enjoyed playing tennis in various leagues around town, and was most passionate about her involvement with the Build A Miracle non-profit which is dedicated to improving the lives of needy families in Mexico by building homes and sponsoring students education. She was a devoted mom and wife who was fervent about life itself, and who lovingly touched the lives of all the people she knew. She was often described by others as, beautiful, sweet, faith-filled, generous, joyous, courageous, compassionate, and humble. Many have said she was a bright shining light in their lives and her strong faith drew them closer to the Lord. Her beaming smile and laugh were contagious.

She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Amy will be held at St Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 11451 Blue Cypress Drive, San Diego, CA 92131, on Saturday, August 27th at 10am, followed by interment at El Camino Memorial Park. A reception to celebrate Amy will follow the interment on Saturday at the Rodenbeck home, 11828 Caminito Sanudo, in Scripps Ranch at 3:30pm. All who knew Amy are encouraged to join the Rodenbeck family and friends for this joyous celebration of Amy's life.  We request that you wear cheerful colors to celebrate Amy's bright light.
