Antonio "Diogo" Pereira was born on the island of Zanzibar on May 28, 1930. He had 2 brothers, Wilfred "Willy", Salazar and 1 sister, Antoneta "Apu". Diogo's father passed away when he was very young. He had to start working at an early age to support his family. In search for better job prospects, he went to Nairobi, Kenya. He married Filomena Hermetina Carvalho "Tina" from Vasco, GOA. Diogo migrated with his family to the U.S. in 1968 and settled in Union City in the San Francisco, Bay Area. He planned road trips with his brother, sister, cousins and their families. In 1999, he moved to San Diego to be with his children. He worked in Nairobi for the railroad, and Good Year tire company. In San Francisco he worked for a shipping company K-Line. He was Married for 61 years. Diogo was 91 years old. He was a loving devoted husband, a great father, and grandfather. He leaves behind his wife, "Tina" Filomena, two children, Tony and Glenn, daughters-in-law, Melina, Ayesha, and four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jacquelyn, Kyle and Aidan.
