It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Jean Batch , beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, on September 27, 2025, at the age of 87.

Barbara was born on August 12, 1938, to Allen Douglas Lee and Barbara Ethel Lee (Edgerly) . She grew up in the Fresno/Madera area of California, lovingly raised by her grandmother Mabel Edgerly and great aunt Ethel Edgerly . In 1956, she moved to San Diego and began working for General Atomics, where she met and later married the love of her life, John Marvin Batch . They shared 64 wonderful years together.

Barbara devoted her life to her family. She was the proud mother of three children — Richard, Dianne, and Suzanne — and cherished grandmother to Christian and Connor . She found joy in gardening, Bible study, playing tennis, and caring for her beloved dogs.

She is survived by her husband, John; her son Richard Batch (wife Jennifer Lynn ); her daughter Dianne Batch ; and her daughter Suzanne Batch (husband Dan Sobarnia ). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Christian Batch (wife Jackie , children Jae and Calvin ) and Connor Batch (wife Emma , children Cody and Sky ).

Barbara's love, faith, and devotion to her family will remain an enduring legacy in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
