Betty Jean Leal passed away at her home in San Diego, CA on May 25, 2019.  She was born in Elon College, NC to Jesse and Helen Chrismon on March 22. 1940.  Betty was 79 years old.

She worked for many years as a clerical assistant for an airline company.   Betty most recently worked for her daughter and son-in-law before her retirement.  She enjoyed reading.

Betty Jean is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Tony Lee & Ruby Apple of Mesa, AZ; daughter and son-in-law Richelle & Rick Ellis; brother and sister-in-law Austin & Betty Chrismon of South Carolina; grandchildren Devon, Betty, Tony Jr. & Andrew and great-grandchildren Nyah, Presley and Hayley.  Betty was preceded in death by her husband Ernesto Leal Jr. in June 1998.

A funeral service will be held at 3pm, Saturday, June 1 ^st at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary.  A graveside service will take place at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, AZ at 12pm Thursday, June 6 ^th .
