Obituary

Bonnie was born march 22, 1931 in Spring Canyon, Utah to Glen and Ruby Fern Burgess Petty.  She spent the first eighteen years of her life in Utah and then moved to California where she met and married Donald Lee Higginson, the love of her life.  They had 67 years together before Don's passing in 2016.

She is survived by her three daughters, Karen (Matt Heath) and Susie (Gary) Delozier, both of Utah and Nancy (Jim) Profancik of Ramona, and one son Don, Jr. (Becky) of Poway, twenty-four grandchildren, sixty-five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Don and her grandson, Brandon Delozier.

Bonnie loved life to the fullest as she and Don traveled the world while he served int he US Navy, and then for his international work with Reynolds Glass Company.  Visiting new places was one of her favorite things to do.

She loved to entertain and her dinner parties were legendary.  Everyone wanted to be at her table, sharing one of her incredible home-cooked meals.  Her grandkids thought she made the best tacos in the world.

Bonnie worked in data processing for many years at Balboa Naval Hospital and after her retirement she learned to play the piano, play tennis, tole-paint and sew.  She loved playing tennis and participated in tournaments until she was in her sixties.  She hosted numerous holiday luncheons for her large group of "tennis friends".

She spent several years serving at the LDS San Diego Temple and she served two missions for the LDS Church, along with her husband, in San Diego at the Bishop's Storehouse and also in Julian at the LDS Branch there.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved the Lord.

Her family was her rock and she was ours.
