Brian Allen
Perry
January 6, 1971 – January 20, 2020
Brian Allen Perry, 49, passed away in his home in San Diego, California on Monday January 20, 2020.
Brian was born January 6th, 1971 in Kokomo, Indiana, to parents Detta Chezem and George Perry. As a child he was fun-loving and carefree, and he especially loved to play with his brothers. He also shared a close bond to stepsister Charity and brothers Scott Carlson and Derek Schnitz. As a young child he loved books, and Peter and the Wolf was his favorite.
After he graduated high school in 1989, Brian, sporting his "
Motley Crue
" hairstyle, moved to California and was the spitting image of their drummer
Tommy Lee
. He lived there with his uncle and worked at the "Super Star Studios" in Mission Beach. While enjoying his time there, he also knew he needed something more stable, so he applied to the Sheriff's department in 1992 and was hired as a reserve officer. The very next year it became his full-time career.
He was married in 1991 and, that very next year, they welcomed their first child, Sierra. Working hard to provide for his family was always a priority, and eventually they were able to purchase their first home in 1996. It was that same year that his son Tristan was born.
Brian's children were his treasure, his very heart and soul. When Sierra was 7 years old, he would take her on trips with him. One year he brought her to visit New York City, the place where she would live as an adult. He was always very proud of how independent she was, even from childhood.
He also admired Tristan's intelligence and perseverance in everything he pursued. From his athleticism in martial arts, to his high honors in the military. His son became all the things he hoped him to be. At Tristan's military graduation, Brian gifted him a gold necklace as a symbol that no matter what, he would never let him go.
In 2002, Brian transitioned into the Department of Justice as an undercover Narcotics agent.
It was during this time in the line of duty that he saved countless lives, including the life of a little boy, moments from death. He continued to put his life at risk for his country, state, and family, and never questioned his duties.
Brian enjoyed traveling, food, good conversations, and music. He was full of vigor and believed in experiencing life to the absolute fullest.
He will be deeply missed by his children, his family and friends, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
