Brian Lynn Sweet, beloved husband and father passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at age 66 in Poway, CA. Brian was born November 5, 1956, in Inglewood, CA to Russell and Margaret (Hesson) Sweet. The middle of three children, Brian's childhood in Folsom, CA and Cerritos, CA was a happy one. He graduated from Cerritos High School in 1974 and enlisted in the Navy. As a Vietnam veteran, he served on Guam at the Ship Repair Facility and at the Coronado Amphibious Base (San Diego) in the River Boat Squadron as an Engineman.

Brian met Naomi Scott, a fellow sailor, on Guam in 1976 and they married in Carson City, NV in November of 1977. They lived in Poway California and were blessed with three children Audrey, Jacqueline, and Christopher.

Brian was a heavy equipment mechanic at Triple A South and a forklift mechanic at Clarklift San Diego and Hawthorne Cat. In 2008 Brian started Sweet Forklift Service with the help of his son Christopher.

Brian loved fishing and camping in Mammoth Lakes, CA. An old car enthusiast, he loved working on old cars and going to car shows.  In retirement Brian and Naomi traveled the country in their RV.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents and brother Stephen Sweet.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, his children Audrey (Mike Keeley), Jacqueline and Christopher, brother Russell Sweet (Caren) of Cookeville, TN, and nephews Cody Sweet of San Diego, CA, Aaron Sweet of Las Vegas, NV and Andrew Sweet of Nashville, TN.

A celebration of life is being planned. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
