Obituary

Camerin Elizabeth St Croix Diot passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2023 in San Diego, California. She was born on March 27, 1961 to Charles and Sylvia Chambers in Pomona, California. Camerin was happily married to Thomas Diot for 14 ½ years.

Camerin spent most of her life in Glendora, CA, working tirelessly for many years as a mortgage lending underwriter and then as Operations Support Specialist for Plaza Home Mortgage. However, her passion for life extended far beyond her work. For a few years, Camerin volunteered as Secretary of the San Diego Pontiac Car Club, she grew many flowers and vegetables, she loved cooking and her two cats.

Camerin found Thomas Diot in April 2008, they had their first date in May at a concert at the House of Blues, he proposed to her at the Marine Room in September and they got married in October.

Cam used her artistic touch to renovate and redecorate their house, bringing in many paintings that she loved. She designed a stunning rose garden so Thomas could cut and bring inside every fragrant, blooming rose. Her taste in music was unique, with her favorites being Enigma, Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers, the Eagles and Journey. She believed that the presentation of a meal was key to enjoyment, and therefore accompanied it with beautiful flowers, good China and linen napkins. Camerin had a love for lobster. They grew our own fruits, vegetables and nuts in their
yard. She even had a grape arbor built over our patio with our red seedless grapes being her absolute favorite. With her green thumb she enjoyed planting tulips, lilies and gladiolus that would return every spring.

She rescued two kittens, and one would sit on her lap every morning and evening. Cam loved wearing sundresses, sandals, and walking in the water at the beach, where she felt free and at peace.

Camerin was her husband's rock, his love, his best friend and his soulmate. She was the only person who believed in him and gave him the confidence to rise up at Pratt, become a leadman and stand up to the  vice president/general manager. He called her every day at lunch, and she always made him laugh, especially when she told him we needed a bigger door for his big head. Friday nights were their JEOPARDY! party, watching the week's recorded shows.  Saturday nights were reserved for Survivor and fixer upper shows. Every other night, they sat at the dinner table and
talked about everything, told jokes and she read "good news."

Camerin had a natural charisma that lit up any room she entered. She dressed beautifully and had class, style and dignity. She was a private person, but when she spoke, everyone listened because she did not like to repeat herself. When Camerin was quiet, she believed that "her silence could not be misquoted." "Do what you say and say what you do" was another of her saying but my favorite was "if it is not fun, don't do it!"

During her morning work phone meetings, Camerin would tell "Dad" jokes and liven up the session.

Camerin was sunshine, she was life, she was colorful, she was gorgeous and she was selfless. As Camerin's supervisor, Bo said, "she was amazing!" Camerin smelled like spring flowers.

Camerin was a very loving Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Niece, Cousin, Granddaughter, coworker and good friend to all of us and we will miss her dearly. Camerin was everything that Thomas ever wanted in a woman, and a lot more. She was his honey lamb. Please remember her when you walk on the beach where her spirit now rests.

Thank you for honoring Camerin's life with us.
