Carl Grindle passed away peacefully, surrounded by local family members, on April 15, 2019, at the young age of 93.

Carl was born on October 09, 1925 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, the son of Richard Russell Grindle and Mary Jane Miller.  He had two siblings, Ralph Sherman and Betty Irene. After completing high school in 1943 he entered into the V-12 Navy College Training Program and earned his Electrical Engineering Degree.

Carl married his first wife, Marian Ardella Evans, in 1946, until her passing in 2013.  Their 67 year marriage gave them four children: Lance, Carla, Lorri and Corey, five grandchildren - Sulani, Kiefer, Eric, Briana, and Arlo, and two great grandchildren - Apollo and Adeline.

Carl moved his family to Poway in 1955 and built their family home there. He was very active in the Poway Lions Club from 1955 to the present. He opened and operated his own company, Microwave Specialty, in 1980 and the company is still flourishing under his name. Carl was a dedicated workaholic, putting in six to seven days per week at his plant.

Carl had a big heart and generous nature, helping emerging third world countries by sending medical equipment, medicines, electronics and supplies. Through his generosity he was able to give to numerous charities and financially assisted just about anyone who needed his help. He helped build and/or rescue many businesses from his acquaintances.

On November 13, 2013, Carl married again to Dorothy DiTomaso, the daughter of his long-time friend, Henry DiTomaso, and gained two step-children, Dustin Echols and Tammy Kattner, and their long list of family members.

Carl is preceded in death by his father and mother Richard and Mary Grindle, daughter Carla Grindle, first wife Marian Grindle, brother Ralph and sister Betty.

Carl is survived by his second wife, Dorothy, his three children, son Lance and daughter-in-law Rosie, daughter Lorri and son-in-law Mark, son Corey and daughter-in-law Debbi, his five grandchildren Sulani, Kiefer, Eric, Briana, and Arlo, his two great grandchildren, Apollo and Adeline, his two step-children Dustin, Tammy and son-in-law Sean, and four step-grandchildren Ryan and step daughter-in-law Kortni, Chad and step daughter-in-law Sara, Brandon and step-daughter-in-law Kelly, Kendal and step-son-in-law Justin.

A celebration of life will be held at the Casitas Del Sol Mobile Home Park, 1219 E Barham Drive, San Marcos, CA 92078, on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at 3:00 pm.

Prior to becoming ill Carl was in the process of starting up an educational scholarship fund through the Poway Lions Club.
