Carol Jean Brunsell passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her family on November 2, 2026. She was 84 years old.

Carol was born in Minneapolis, MN on June 23, 1942 to John and Julia (nee Timinski) Kodytek. After graduating high school, she began working as legal secretary for a law firm. After marriage and starting her family, Carol chose to stay home to raise her two children. She later went back to work part-time.

She was an amazing grandmother!  Caring for all as they grew.  She also enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard Brunsell; son John R. Brunsell and daughter Jeanna (Jon) Polchow all of San Diego, CA; grandchildren Jordan, Tyler, Alexander, Madison, and Luc; and great-grandchildren Cannon, Regan, Cole, Scottie, Tristan with two more on the way

A funeral service will be held at 10am, Friday November 6, 2026 at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary with interment following at Dearborn Memorial Park.
