Carol Ann
Duburguet
May 14, 1943 – August 15, 2023
Carol Ann Duburguet, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and avid traveler, passed away in San Diego, California in 2023. Born in London, England in 1943, Carol's journey through life took her across continents and oceans, leaving a legacy of cherished memories.
In her late teens Carol began her professional journey as a secretary for a International Building Company, Taylor Woodrow. A professioal journey that was curtailed when she met and married Terry Duburguet, and their journey together spanned six decades of shared adventures and unwavering companionship. Carol and Terry's journey led them from Bridgend, Wales where they, were blessed with two children Kaaren and Derren, to Winchester. In 1972, they embarked on a bold new chapter by emigrating to Canada, settling in Ontario, where they embraced their new country and made lifelong friendships. After 17 years in Canada, Carol and Terry relocated once again, this time to the sun-soaked shores of San Diego, California, where they continued to make memories and write new chapters in their life story. Throughout her life, Carol was a true explorer at heart, nurturing her passion for travel by embarking on countless cruises to distant lands. She found a special affinity for the sea, making an impressive 12 passages through the Panama Canal and journeying to enchanting destinations such as Hawaii, Bora Bora, Peru, and the idyllic islands of the Caribbean.
Beyond her love for travel, Carol found solace in tending to her garden, coaxing vibrant life from the soil and creating a tranquil oasis of beauty. Her nurturing spirit extended to her family, who she cherished above all else. Whether it was the laughter shared during family gatherings or the quiet moments spent together, Carol's presence always radiated warmth, love, and a deep sense of togetherness.
Carol leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration. She is survived by her devoted husband Terry, her daughter Kaaren, her son Derren, and her adoring grandchildren Meryle and Kellen, who were the light of her life. In addition, Carol is survived by her sister June Giles, residing in Borehamwood, England, whose bond with Carol was a testament to the enduring strength of family ties.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Helen Woodward Animal Center in Carol's honor.
