After a long life of 96 years, Charles Joseph Rogers passed away quietly and joined his wife and son Roland in heaven on April 12,2024.

Charles was born on December 28, 1927 in New York City to Charles and Angela Rogers. At a young age, he traveled to Ireland where he was raised by loving aunts and his grandfather.   He returned to the United States in 1949 to pursue a degree in Accounting at St John's University in New York.

Charles met the love of his life, Lorraine Berube in 1951 and they were married in October 1952. They enjoyed an extended honeymoon while he served for two years on a US Naval base in Germany.

Over the years, his business career moved the family to Cincinnati, OH, Milwaukee, WI and ultimately to Mt Prospect, IL where the family lived for 22 years. Along the way, Charles and Lorraine welcomed four children.

Upon retirement to Poway, Ca, in 1986, Charles volunteered to do taxes for the elderly with the AARP tax program. He faithfully did free tax returns for anyone who asked well into his nineties.

Charles is survived by his three children Charles (Jan) of Bourne, MA, Louise Teske, of Palatine IL, Jeanne Apostol (Bill) of Hoffman Estates, IL. and daughter in law, Kathy Waller Rogers Bachman, of Louisville, KY. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Rita Paul, Christopher C Rogers, Andrew T. Teske, David L Rogers, Abigail R. Zell and Emily Grewe, and four great grand daughters

He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine in 2012 his and son Roland in 1995 as well as his brothers Warren Rogers and Colin Rogers

Charles was a kind and gentle man, a loving husband and a wonderful supportive father.  A deeply religious man, he went to daily Mass most of his life.

Charles could always be found in a comfy chair reading a book and listening to classical music
