Obituary

Christine Jasso-Buchanan, resident of Poway, passed away Wednesday, June 21st surrounded by her loving family after a sudden complication to an ongoing health issue. She was 80 years old.

Christine was born on July 24th 1942 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to parents Maximiliano Jasso and Josefina Negrete-Jasso. The family came to San Diego in 1952. She attended San Diego High School and went to work as a waitress Downtown San Diego where she met a young sailor, Robert C. Buchanan, "Buck", from Glade Springs, VA.  The handsome sailor and beautiful waitress would marry each other multiple times. He was the love of her life. They had 3 children, Monica, Audra and Joseph.  After living Navy Military life and traveling, she would later go to work in the Medical Field starting in housekeeping and working her way up to Operating Room Technician.  Her career spanned over 35 years.  During that time, she won numerous awards and recognitions from Perfect Attendance to Employee of the Month.  She worked at Mercy Hospital, Alvarado Medical Center and retired from Sharp Hospital in 2006.

Christine was a woman of Faith, Strength, and Love.   She deeply loved her family and was always available to them whenever needed, often sacrificing her own needs to help others.  She overcame many hardships in her lifetime, yet her faith never wavered and she always managed to come back stronger and more resilient, setting an exemplary example for her daughters and family to follow.

Christine loved dining out, theater shows and shopping.  She enjoyed watching old black and white movies and listening to music on her turntable.  She had a small collection of her favorite vinyls, the oldies but goodies as she called them. She was a classy lady, loved by all that knew her.  May all be comforted in knowing she is free of all pain and suffering, resting peacefully with our Heavenly Father.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, son, husband and sister Anne George.

She leaves behind a large family she loved deeply. Daughter and son-in-law Audra and Christian Baecker of Poway, Daughter Monica Munoz of Escondido, Adopted Daughter Annie Lashley-Buchanan of Poway, Sister Rosalinda Myers, Brother Henry Negrete their respective spouses and her numerous nieces and nephews.  Eight Grandchildren, Dawkin Buchanan, Natasha Munoz, Brianna Guzman, Raquel Ruvalcaba, Jessica Munoz, AJ & Adaam Ostrowski, Siegmund Baecker, their respective spouses.  And 10 Great-Grandchildren, Alex, Joseph, Raelynn, Jeremiah, Tobias, Sienna, Sierra, Roxy, Anastasia, and baby Edwin.

One of the last things she said during her final hours was, tell them all I love them.

Rest in peace Mom- We love you too!
