Clarita Braganza Patungan, nee Anselmo, was a long time resident of San Diego, California. Clarita Braganza Anselmo Patungan passed away on March 20, 2024 in La Jolla, California.

Clarita is survived by her husband of 60 years; Victorio Valdez Patungan and their daughters Victoria Eberle and Maria-Reina Patungan Walthall her grandchildren Kathryn Eberle, Jackson Eberle, Trajan Eberle, Patrick Neal Patungan Walthall and Victorio Charlie Patungan Walthall.

Clarita was born on December 14, 1943 in the Philippines to Felicidad and Simeon Anselmo.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Dagupan College in the Philippines and became an elementary school teacher. Clarita married Victorio Valdez Patungan at the St. John's Metropolitan Cathedral in Dagupan City on Saturday, November 20, 1965.

After being an elementary school teacher, Clarita became a stay at home mom. She loved to bring her children to the local public library and instilled a love of reading as well as an instilled knowledge of value of an education.

Clarita was a devoted wife and mother. Clarita was also a devout Catholic and instilled her Catholic faith in her family. Clarita enjoyed "pasyal pasyal" with her husband Victorio "Toring", daughter Maria-Reina along with grandsons Patrick Neal Patungan Walthall and Victorio Charlie Patungan Walthall. They would often drive to different places in San Diego on mini adventures. Clarita was also a "foodie" and was known for often cooking for her family and friends. The nurses in her dialysis unit loved her so much they all began to refer to her as "nanay" (mother in tagalog). Clarita was a strong-willed individual and to know her was to truly love her. Clarita was also known for giving candy to those who worked at the Veterans Hospital and she would feed the hungry.

Clarita loved her cats and they would often rest with her on the couch.

Clarita also had been an active member and held the office of President of the Filipino American Women's Club of San Diego.

The funeral mass is scheduled for April 3, 2024, 11:00 AM at 11451 Blue Cypress Drive at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in San Diego, California.

Clarita Braganza Anselmo Patungan will be laid to rest at the Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, California.
