Cynthia (Cindy) Anne McCrea of Poway entered heaven on January 2, 2023. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her four daughters.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and eventually married and raised her family in upstate New York. Afterwards she went to college and completed her degree at MVCC. She was employed by GE Aerospace which brought her to California. After retirement, she enjoyed many volunteer activities including: Backyard Produce, PowPAC theatre and Special Olympics. She also enjoyed running, hiking, yoga, birding and reading. She was a member of the Church at Rancho Bernardo where she volunteered as a weekend greeter/usher and helped coordinate memorials and wedding services.

She is survived by her daughters: Christy (Tommy) Short, Kathy (Brian) Lahr, Sharon Helsens, and Susan (Tim) Murray; her grandchildren: Jessica (Alex) Karp, Demi and Aaron Lahr, Elizabeth Helsens, Benjamin (Lauren) Murray, Sarah, Daniel and Rachel Murray; her great-grandchildren: James and Luke Karp; and her sister Karen (Dan) Houdersheldt. She is predeceased by her brother Larry, and her parents Anna and Ralph McCrea.

In lieu of services, the family requests that you honor Cindy by taking an extra minute to hug someone you love, call someone you have been thinking of, or take the first step in repairing a damaged relationship. Most of all, love one another.
