David Allan Worley, born January 24, 1962, in Alexandria, VA, and previously of Danville, CA, passed away at on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Jacobs Medical Center in San Diego, CA. David was currently residing near his family living in San Diego. David most recently retired from Bayer/Berlex in San Francisco where he worked for many years and was head of Engineering and Facilities there.

David was a graduate of The University of Virginia and Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, where he received his graduate degree in chemical engineering, which ultimately led him to his forever home and career in northern California. David was an avid NFL, Raiders fan, and for those who knew him, he took this job seriously. He also loved traveling, especially off-the-beaten path parks and beautiful scenic areas as well as having spent numerous hours on golf courses from California to the East Coast with his family. One of his many past-times included the love of classic rock, primarily The Who. His vast vinyl collection served as proof of this hobby. His shelves also included enough books to be referred to by his family as the Worley Library of Too Many Books, as well as t-shirts from every know destination he visited over his many years of travel. However, the biggest love of all, as anyone who knew him knows, was that of his family – his wife and two sons whom he loved unconditionally and with an ultimate devotion, as well as his mother, who resides on the opposite coast where he kept in touch with via his daily phone calls for which she looked forward to each and every day.

David is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Doyle Worley, of Abingdon, VA, formerly of Graceville, FL. David is survived by his wife, Jane Manforte Worley of the home; his two sons, Thomas David Worley and Christopher James Worley, both of San Diego, CA, as well as his mother, Joan Thomas Worley of Abingdon, VA. David is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There will be a memorial service at Poway Bernardo Mortuary in Poway, CA, at 12:30pm, on August 18, 2022. Interment will be held at a later date in San Diego.
