Love is measured in many ways. I had a love, and I still have the same love. One measure is in your heart and that's a measure only you know. My love then and now is my beautiful wife Diane. She is with sweet Jesus now. That love was always there and will never end. Diane is a precious soul who now lives in Heaven.
Diane was born and grew up in Ozone Park, Queens, New York with her parents Ann and John Ferrara and her two brothers. Diane will always be remembered by Billy, her loving, charming and devoted husband; BJ, her loving, gregarious and compassionate son and Jen, her loving, lighthearted and adoring daughter; her brother Tommy Ferrara and sister-in-law Daria; four incredible grandsons proved to be the best medicine this world could offer. Diane passionately loved each one for their individual strength and personalities. Angelo, her first grandson, always had a special place in her heart. He showed her, with his endless compassion and love, that being a grandma is the most fulfilling calling. Garrett, her second grandson puts together and takes apart things so well, he's destined for greatness. Ryker is the "I can conquer anything" third grandson; and finally Johnny, the I can make you smile anytime, fourth grandson; her nieces and nephews, Dani, Tara, Chris from brother Tommy and his wife Daria and twins Elizabeth and Emilio from brother Johnny (may he RIP).
Diane battled ovarian cancer for two years. With all your prayers, loving support and Jesus in her corner she found the strength every minute of every day to continue the fight. One thing I know for sure, is that when we left the house, she could pull herself together so well, that she always looked liked she was cured of the cancer.
Just to give you an idea of her depth in life, Diane was a fantastic daughter. She spent hours with her mom in the wee hours of the morning, just talking about life. She was a wonderful sister that was often asked for direction and counsel in life's matters. Of course she was always a spectacular wife that made many parts of me tick to a certain rhythm throughout life. She was undeniably the best mom that nearly single-handedly brought up their two children while Billy was often away in some country working.
Diane was a prolific poet and has hundreds of poems and spiritual writings. A spiritual advisor, talking in tongues, laying of the hands during the days of being a Charismatic Catholic; a self taught seamstress that made all our home décor; a culinary chef that would come home and duplicate the cuisine after a yummy dinner out. She had traveled to 15 countries from Italy to China and countless states for family camping, visits and vacations. She actually did find the underground Church in China by herself!!! That was both a miracle and totally illegal. Nothing could get in the way of Diane and her faith. She was a steadfast Apologetic for the Catholic faith and was very comfortable in all surroundings to spread the good word of Jesus Christ. She was a disco dancer and later in life found a passion in Zumba. She spent decades as a beauty consultant that just wanted you to be as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside and succeeded in helping many achieve both. Always a friend you can count on to patiently listen and help counsel you on your life's journey. Diane is now where she always prayed to be when her time came....with Our dear Lord Jesus.
