Mom lived an incredible life marked by recovery from a number of life challenges. Born in Brooklyn and later raised in Cape May, she was trained as a nurse at Flower's Nursing Home in NYC and then met her husband John and they married in 1957. In 1971 she became a single mom of four young boys at 33 years old when her beloved John died. She found a career in real estate as a broker and agent, which provided her flexibility to support her family while rising her young boys. Dianne was a real estate professional for over 45 years. Her career took her to leadership positions on a local, state, national and international level. Dianne had ten real estate designations, was on the National Association of Realtors, Women's Council of Realtors, Residential Sales Council, Director of the California Association of Realtors and was the Presidential Liaison for National Association of Realtors to the Republic of Slovakia, where she traveled several times and was a featured speaker at conferences there. Dianne was inducted into the National Association of Realtors Hall of Fame in 2017 and was a finalist for San Diego Realtor of the Year. Beyond her professional involvements, the Dianne's priority were her clients. She worked day and night on behalf of them and developed lifetime friendships with many of her customers.
Mom was a world traveler, with her good friends Donnella, Pat, Barbara and Maria she visited Asia, Europe, South America, the Caribbean and of course each year would make an annual pilgrimage to Mazatlán Mexico with friends, or by herself.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, the highlight of her life were her five boys, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always remembers them with a card or a gift. She loved them all and when she lost her son Scott, a piece of her was gone.
She was a giving person who volunteered for many years for the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Muscular Dystrophy Telethon raising money for that well-known charity. In lieu of Flowers contributions can be made to www.mda.org .
