Obituary

Dorothy Jean Ellison

Dorothy Park was Born Dorothy Jean Ellison to Vena and Ray Ellison in Malone, Washington.  She had an older sister, Vivian, and an older brother, Dave. Her family history traced back to the Mayflower.  Her family was a strong and wonderful family.  Eventually, they moved to Olympia, Washington where Ray opened an oyster farm.   Dorothy loved living at the bay, and loved going to school and learning.  She eventually went to college at Walla Walla University, even though her dad told her that girls didn't need an education.  At Walla Walla, she met the love of her life, Jack Park.  When Jack graduated and became a Navy office, they got married and led a life of adventure; traveling to places such as Saipan, Panama and Hawaii.  Dorothy loved being a Navy wife and was always busy volunteering in activities such as working as a "grey lady" in the hospital.  Dorothy had three daughters, Lesla, Cecelia and Janet.  When Jack left the Navy, they moved to Washington D.C. where they entertained and met many people including President George H. W. Bush.  Dorothy continued her education there, eventually getting her Masters in International Business.  Dorothy and Jack continued their love of traveling visiting and going to the Opera.  Eventually, they retired in Rancho Bernardo.  Dorothy is survived by her three daughters, five grandchildren (Ryan, Jeff, Tracy, Parker, and Jamie) and two great-granddaughters (Kayla and Olivia).  Dorothy is grateful for the love and care of Mireya Gonzales and her life long friends.
