Dorothy Alice
Robinson
March 18, 1928 – December 10, 2022
Born on March 18, 1928, in St. Paul, Kansas, the second of 8 children, Dorothy Alice Schreuer Robinson, 94, of Lemon Grove and Escondido, CA passed away on December 10th, 2022 at Felicita Vida Senior Living in Escondido, CA.
Loving and devoted wife to Charles Robinson, they met as young adults at a skating rink in Ft. Scott, KS and after a short courtship married. Their life together took them from Kansas to Chinook, Montana, then Lemon Grove, CA. During their 46-year marriage, they became parents to 6 children, all who survive her.
Dorothy is remembered as loving wife, mother, sister and aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother; an outstanding Avon representative for 40 years, number one in the state of California several years; a fabulous square dancer and round dancer; a gifted seamstress, making many items of clothing and quilts without benefit of a printed pattern; and a proud Mount Miguel band "mom" for 4 years.
But, Dorothy is best remembered for her 'armchair' counseling and great ability to interact with people of all ages making her a confidante to many who became loyal and long-time friends; she was a lover of children; a positive, can-do attitude, honesty, kindness, forgiveness, integrity and compassion were the embodiment of her character.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Alice (Fowler) Schreuer; in 1994 by her beloved husband, Charles Robinson; by her sisters, Regina Cobb, Ellen "Betty" O'Hara, Evelyn Tillman, Margaret Larkin and brother John Schreuer. She is survived by her children; Michael Robinson (Sharon), San Francisco, CA; Charlotte Boland (Jack), Punta Gorda, FL; Debra Trott (Greg), Poway, CA; Greg Robinson (Sue), Arden, NC; Douglas Robinson (Kathy), Abingdon, MD; Marie Robinson, Lemon Grove CA; and sisters Joann Cook (St. Paul, KS), Patricia Hess (Boise, ID) and brother-in-law Mark Larkin (Nineveh, IN). Dorothy was the very proud grandmother of 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren (with two more on the way!) whom she loved dearly and who will greatly miss "Grandma".
Public visitation will be held on Monday, January 16th, 2023 at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary, 13243 Poway Rd, Poway, CA from 2:30-6 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of St. Timothy, 2960 Canyon Rd., Escondido, CA at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023 with Rev.
