Our beautiful Dottie Vargas, a native of San Diego, lost her 7 month battle to cancer.  She passed away peacefully 10:30 AM, July 25, 2019.  She was surrounded by her husband Jay, three daughters, Christine Babcock (Jack), Julie Licari & Gina Meyers, six grandchildren:  Matthew, Michael, Jake, Aliyah, Remy and Gianna.

Dottie and Jay were married for 56years.  Jay is a retired Marine and recipient of the Medal of Honor.  Dottie was an active athlete who participated in team tennis, golf and volleyball tournaments.  She excelled highly in all 3 sports.  She loved children and served both in San Diego and Poway schools as a teacher's assistant during the 1980's and 1990's.  During the 2003 Cedar Fire the family lost their home.  She alone supervised in the building of their new home while raising two of their grandchildren, Matt & Aliyah.

We all shall miss her forever; for she was a God send.  Many of her friends and daughters have stated 'If I were to return in a second life, they wanted Dottie to be their mother'; such a gentle woman, loved by all.
