Obituary

Edward Fred Allert Sr.(Ed)

Born in Chicago, Illinois on 02/03/1943 to Lucille (Kusch) Allert and Edward Allert. Ed was the 2nd oldest of five children Donna , Linda, Sharon, and Peggy.

He died on 01/25/2021 in Poway, California due to heart complications

In 1962 he joined the Navy as Storekeeper Second Class on the USS Chowanoc during the Vietnam war . In 1968 he met Betty Ruth Weinapple, they married in 1969. She was the love of his life. Together they moved to Poway and raised 4 children: Larry, Aaron, Judi and Edward Jr.

Ed worked for SDG&E for over thirty years. In his spare time he was a Scoutmaster for a large group of boys in Poway. He loved both fishing and country music as well as making wood banks for craft fairs, using his skills, he would cut projects for other crafters. He and Betty enjoyed traveling and went to all the states as well as to Europe. He and Betty had a great love, he looked at her as if nobody else was around him, they had the kind of love that everyone wants. When Betty passed in December 2018 it was very rough for the whole family and especially for Ed, he never was quite the same after the love of his life was gone. He was a quiet man and had not much to say but when he did you listened.

Before/After retiring he served as a Park Ranger for The Old Poway Park, a job he really enjoyed. Being a ranger he also had the opportunity of being Santa for the city Christmas events. He was the kindest man you would ever meet.

Ed is survived by his children: Larry Weinapple, Aaron Weinapple, Judi Faaborg, and Edward Allert Jr, 10 Grandchildren: 2 Great Grandchildren: and siblings Donna , Linda, Sharon, and Peggy
