Edward George Sweet passed away in Poway, CA on February 1, 2025. He was 90 years old. Edward was born in Keene, New Hampshire on December 12, 1934. Ed lived a life defined by family. In 1960, Ed would marry the love of his life Donna Jean Brinnemen, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Together, they built a family filled with love raising two children Rick and Renee. Ed was a good loving man. He cared for Donna their whole married life and even more so the last 5 years before her passing in 2010.

Upon completion of high school, Edward proudly served in the US Air Force, stationed in far away places such as Greenland and Iceland. With the G.I. Bill in his back pocket, he would graduate from Indiana Tech University with a bachelors in mechanical engineering. This laid the groundwork for over 45 years of dedicated service in the defense industry. He was employed by General Dynamics in San Diego and Raytheon in Tucson, Arizona.

Besides spending time with family Ed enjoyed collecting and restoring antique radios and following sports. He enjoyed anything Boston/New England, Notre Dame and San Diego State. Ed was a dedicated season ticket holder for more than 40 years.

He is survived by his son Rick Sweet of Poway, CA; daughter and son-in-law Renee & Jeffrey Benander of Poway, CA and granddaughter Kaitlyn Benander. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, brother Bill and sister Alice.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm, Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Dearborn Memorial Park, 14361 Tierra Bonita Road, Poway, CA 92064.
