Ervel (Erv) E. Attebury, Jr., (81), of Santee, California, passed away on March 19, 2024 leaving behind a legacy of service, adventure and craftsmanship.

As a young man, Erv earned the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 14 before enlisting in the US Navy in 1960. He received his officer's commission (went mustang,) while on active duty in 1969 before retiring as a Lieutenant Commander after 26 years as a Submariner and starting a second career as a Navy contractor.

Beyond his military career, Erv's passion for RVing took him on remarkable journeys traveling to the northern tip of Alaska, the length of the Mississippi River, through all 49 continental states. His talent as a woodworker showcased his creativity and skill, leaving behind countless cherished creations.

Erv is survived by his wife of 60 years Trecia, his children, Mark, Scott, and Mendy, their partners, Sheila, Christy, and Mike, and his grandchildren Ella and Nick.

Erv's family will gather to celebrate his life on April 15, 2024 at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego at 2pm. In honor of his lifelong dedication to service, contributions to the USO in Erv's name would be deeply appreciated
