Fadwa
Harb
December 24, 1937 – September 23, 2025
Fadwa Harb of San Diego, California passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. Fadwa was born in Ramallah, Palestine on December 24, 1937. She was the youngest of seven children. Her family immigrated to the United States when she was 14 years old and they settled in San Francisco, California. In 1957 she married Fred J. Harb and they chose to make San Diego, California their home. They had three children, Joey, Jeff, and Jane. They ran a successful family business that specialized in home interiors for many years. Unfortunately, Fadwa's husband passed away tragically in 1985. After the loss of her husband, Fadwa decided to move to Rancho Bernardo.
In Rancho Bernardo, Fadwa became very active in her community. She volunteered at the Bernardo Heights Community Center for more than 20 years. Fadwa also volunteered at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts and Poway's Community Theater, PowPAC. Fadwa took great pride in her volunteer work, especially when it came to ushering at performing arts events and preparing food for social gatherings. Fadwa found solace at St. John of Damascus Orthodox Church and began volunteering there as well, becoming a very active member of their community.
Fadwa was incredibly stylish, always looking her best. She was passionate about health and fitness, frequently working out at the gym and taking classes from pilates to zumba. She loved gardening and tending to her roses. Her favorite flowers were gardenias, often placing a gardenia in her hair on special occasions.
Fadwa had 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, who called her "Nana." Her grandchildren have many fond memories spent at Nana's house enjoying holiday celebrations, sleepovers, swimming at the Community Center and eating lots of "Nana's rice", a favorite of anyone who had the pleasure of trying it.
Sadly, in 2020, Fadwa lost her son Jeff to cancer. It was a deeply profound loss for her and the entire family. Her family, friends and church all helped to lift her through her grief as she tried to put her best foot forward and continue to serve her community.
Fadwa was so adored and had an extensive social circle, her calendar was always filled. She strived to stay in contact with all the people that she loved. Whether in person or on the phone, she truly enjoyed catching up with those that were a part of her life.
As much as we will all miss her, we can take comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with Fred and Jeff and that they are shining down upon us all.
