Wallace
June 19, 1945 – October 7, 2023
Gale Wallace, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 7, 2023. He was born the 3rd son of Francis and Anne Wallace in Manitou Lake, Cushing, Wisconsin, the state where he also grew up.
Mr. Wallace completed his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in 1969, and his masters degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Iowa in 1973. He also passed the CPA examination in 1982.
Mr. Wallace was a U.S. Navy officer. He initially served at various Naval hospitals located in Great Lakes, IL; Okinawa, Japan; San Diego, CA; Patuxent River, MD; the Republic of Philippines; and Barbers Point, Hawaii. He then served at the Naval Medical Command Pacific Region as Head Comptroller where he provided resource management of the Navy's largest geographic region with 10 medical and dental treatment centers and the Naval School of Dental Assisting and Technology where he served as the Chief Operating Officer. He earned numerous military decorations including the Meritorious Service Medal.
Upon his retirement form the Navy, he worked for Health Net Federal Services as a Field Operation Manager where he managed and coordinated all aspects of the provisions of services within the area while restructuring and growing the Resource Sharing Program with TRICARE. After he retired from Health Net Federal Services, he worked as a real estate agent. He enjoyed helping clients to achieve their American dreams.
Gale is greatly loved and missed by all his family members, especially his beloved wife of 41 years, Chiyoko and their son Jeff. He leaves behind siblings Duane Wallace, Carol Zucollo, and Mary Patricia Whiting.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2pm November 2nd at Miramar National Cemetery 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, CA 92122.
