Obituary

Imelda Falcon

Imelda Bolivar was born on May 26th, 1953 to Pio Bolivar and Beatrice Halado in Manila, Phillipines. She had one older sister and two older brothers with whom she affectionately referred to as Nene, Nonoy, and Boy, as she was known as Emmy. She was a tomboy as a child and had an adventurous spirit. She would tell the tales of how she had stowed away on a ship to find her mother on another island, after her parents had separated or how her brothers shaved her head to keep her from leaving the house, to no avail. That same adventurous spirit brought her to America after she met her soon-to-be husband, Harold Falcon, a Navy Corpsman stationed in the Philippines. Imelda gave birth to their sons, Michael Falcon in 1974 and Brian Falcon in 1975 in Lima, Ohio. The navy took our family to New York, North Carolina, and Indiana before finally settling down in California. Our mother, Imelda worked many jobs; such as a fast food worker, a bartender, and as an electronics assembly worker. She was an excellent homemaker and took care of her husband, my brother, and I in between. Imelda had a fun, outgoing personality which made her a lot of friends. Some of her favorite pastimes were talking to her friends on the phone, watching her soaps, playing cards, and crocheting. Her cooking was always raved about by family and friends, especially when she made Filipino food. Unfortunately her marriage didn't last and our parents divorced in the mid 90's. 10 years later, Imelda started to lose her memory and resided to the care of her children. After a long struggle with dementia, our loving mother died at the age of 67 on August 27th, 2020. She was surrounded by her sons, their partners, and grandson. She was preceded in death by both her parents. She has left behind her sister, two brothers, her son Michael Falcon, his partner Rebecca Shen, her grandson Jonathan Falcon, her son Brian Falcon, and his partner Jeremy Stearns. She will be forever missed and will be in our hearts.
