Ione Elizabeth Sedlund was born January 19, 1931, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She grew up on a small farm in Almelund, north of Minneapolis, with her four siblings - Grace, Roland, Ellis and Annette. Ione loved to share stories about her prowess as a champion "cow milker".  Shortly after graduating from High School, Ione began a career as a flight Attendant for Pacific Northern Airlines in Seattle, where she met her future husband of forty-one years, Rudy Paulson. In those days, flight attendants were not allowed to be married so Ione chose to forego her flying career to stay at home and become a mom. Together with Rudy they had four children (Kevin, Kerry, Rick and Korinne) and five grandchildren (Lindsay, Ashley, Cody, Sarah, and Steven). Ione lived a good, honest life, always fully committed to the wellbeing of her children. She spent two decades involved in their athletic lives, attending their games, cheering them on, and chauffeuring, entertaining and feeding them and all their friends - essentially becoming a second mom to so many fortunate Rancho Bernardo kids. She can rest in peace knowing her selfless efforts benefited not only her children but many others as well.  Ione loved video poker, playing her crossword games, eating Mexican food and, of course, drinking her margaritas.
