Isabel "Izzy" Serrano passed away peacefully in Poway, CA on July 29, 2021 surrounded by loved ones.  She was 64 years old.  Isabel was born in Tucson, Arizona on December 2, 1956 to Oscar and Silvia Miranda.

She worked at Palomar Medical Center Poway (Pomerado) Hospital as an Operating Room Technician for 32 years and was getting ready for her retirement.  Isabel had a love of travel and enjoyed visiting many places. She especially liked going on cruises.  She took pleasure in gardening; growing beautiful plants and flowers and was known to enjoy a casino now and again.

Isabel is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dominic (Chris) Castillo of San Diego, CA; stepsons Jim, Frank (Melissa) and Mark (Amy) Serrano; brothers Oscar R. (Laurie) and Jose Alfredo (Toni) Miranda; sister Frances Juliana Solis; grandchildren Britani (Travis), Justine (Curtis), Angelina, Frankie, Alexis & Marcos, great-granddaughters Lyla and Hallie, and many extended family members.  She was preceded in death by her husband Francisco "Frank" Serrano in September 2019 and parents Oscar N. and Silvia Miranda.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church at 10:30am, Friday, August 20, 2021. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Izzy's memory to Palomar Health Foundation.
