Jacqueline (Jackie) Morgan Caprio died peacefully March 5 at Belmont Village – Sabre Springs in San Diego.  She is survived by her husband, retired United States Navy Captain Michael Ralph Caprio, Jr.

Jackie was born in Richmond, Virginia.  Her parents were Emmet Sebell Morgan and Lucille Willis James Morgan.

Jackie grew up in Norfolk, Va and graduated from Old Dominion College with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Library Sciences.  She met her future husband, Mike Caprio, while in college and they were married June 4, 1955 in Norfolk.  Jackie worked as a librarian, a substitute teacher, and several temporary jobs while her husband served in the Navy. They had four children and lived in Navy cities across the country: Seattle, Honolulu, Charleston, South Carolina, Pinole (San Francisco Bay Area), Philadelphia, and San Diego.

Jackie led an active life and pursued many interests. She was an artist, a certified ceramist, a community thespian, and a writer. She was recognized for her accomplishments with many awards throughout the years.

Her most notable efforts were in La Mesa, California, in the field of clowning.  She was known and loved by children and adults alike as Cali the Clown.  She took great delight in bringing joy to children of all ages at parties, parades, and other festivities.  She lived the motto, "If you cannot change the world, then at least make them laugh."
