James F. Chamberlain passed away in Escondido, California on August 4, 2026.  James was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 5, 1946 to Jimmie and Lorraine Chamberlain.  He was 80 years old.

In January 1966,  19 year old James was drafted into the United States Army.  He proudly served for two years fulfilling his term of service.  He will be buried at Miramar National Cemetery with military honors.

In his younger years, James enjoyed wrestling and working out.  After earning his master's degree, James became a teacher, dedicating more than 30 years to education.  He taught 8th grade at Black Mountain Middle School in the Poway school district.  He loved teaching and watching the kids grow and succeed.  His interest in planes led him to another career at McDonnell Douglas, where he spent 26 years in the aerospace industry.

James is survived by his daughter and her husband, Angela & Michael Anthony of Toronto, Canada; son Alexander Chamberlain of Tucson, AZ; grandsons, Marcus, Malcolm and Myles and several brothers and sisters.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife Constance in February 2021.

A funeral service will be held at 9am, Monday, August 17, 2026 at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary.  Interment with Army funeral honors will follow at 11:15am at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive - San Diego, CA.
