Janet Perkin passed away peacefully on Dec 15, 2025 at her home in Poway two days after her 85th birthday.

Born in an air raid shelter in Sheffield, England during the Blitz, Janet Perkin led an extremely interesting life. She studied Chemistry and received an Honors degree from Manchester University and then a teaching credential from Cambridge University. She started her career as a research chemist and teacher. During her teaching career, she taught at Amanzimtoti Zulu Training School in South Africa.

After moving to San Diego, raising three children, and building a successful insurance brokerage business with her husband Bob, she was able to travel extensively and also pursue her love of art. She won many awards and was featured in many gallery shows. Her work is exhibited in galleries, corporate offices and homes throughout the United States and Europe.

She is survived by her husband Bob, her 3 children, Eddie, Tom and Ella and 9 grandchildren Alex, Kyle, Lily, Grant, James, Grace, Kaitlyn, Charlotte and Natalia.
