Obituary

Jason Adam Kahana passed away at his home in San Diego, CA on July 31,2020.  Born to Gerald and Diane Kahana in Red Bank, NJ on March 5, 1971, he was 49 years old.

Jason received his B.A. in Mathematics from Northwestern University and Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Harvard Medical School with postdoctoral training at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research in San Diego.  He worked for 18+ years as a Cancer Research Scientist at multiple large pharmaceutical companies.  In recent years he founded Integrity BioSolutions, a biotechnology drug discovery company and co-founded January Therapeutics.  Jason also served on the board of the National Cancer Institute's Experimental Therapeutics section.  He was very dedicated to his work and had a passion to help cancer patients live longer and better lives with new and improved therapies.

In his free time, Jason enjoyed learning new things.  From woodworking and guitar building, engineering/electronics, gardening, music and autobody shop he would immerse himself in anything that interested him.  On Sundays he would enjoy a good football game, but more than anything Jason loved the time that he was able to spend with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Suzanne Kahana of San Diego, CA; daughters Emily, Abigail and Madison all of San Diego, CA; father Gerald Kahana of Toms River, NJ; mother Diane Kahana of Freehold, NJ; brother Jonathan Kahana and his daughters Zoe and Phoebe of Somerville, NJ.
