It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffrey C. Kemph at the age of 53. He passed away at home on April 28, 2023, after a short, but courageous battle with cancer.

Jeff was born on October 10, 1969, in Champaign, Illinois to Albert and Marlene Kemph. He grew up in Imperial Beach and would later work for the City of Imperial Beach. Residents and beachgoers to Imperial Beach could often see Jeff operating heavy equipment on the beach or otherwise maintaining the pier and other city landmarks. Jeff was respected by all that were blessed by his acquaintance and friendship. His honesty, integrity, and work ethic served as a model to everyone around him. He was also able to lift the spirits of others with his big smile, great sense of humor, and outgoing nature.

Jeff was particularly dedicated to his family. Becoming a father later in life, Jeff would always state how blessed he was to have met his wife, Jennifer, with whom he had a son, Jacob. Spending time with family was his top priority, and he often would hold family barbecues by the pool. As an avid fan of music, especially heavy metal, Jeff played guitar and was known for attending many concerts. Jeff also was a serious car buff and loved classic muscle cars (particularly Mopar), of which he owned many over his lifetime.

Jeff will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him. Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer, and their adored son, Jacob. Jeff also leaves behind his cherished sister, Amanda. A private memorial service will be held on May 12, 2023, at the Poway-Bernardo Mortuary.
