Jerome William Antoff, Captain USNR

Jerome (Jerry) William Antoff was born in Winona, MN on May 14, 1934. After he graduated from Winona Senior High School, he was awarded a scholarship to Winona State University where he met Noel, the love of his life. He earned a B.A. Degree in Business Administration in 1956. He married Noel Grech on June 9, 1956, the day after his graduation. Shortly thereafter he left for Officers Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. In December of 1956 he was commissioned an Ensign in the USNR and proudly achieved the rank of Captain USNR after 26 years of honorable service.

Jerry began his banking & investment career in La Crosse, WI where his son James (Jamie) was born on July 30, 1961. The family then moved to Minneapolis, MN where he was an Assistant Vice President in the investment department of  First Minneapolis National Bank.

Jerry moved his family to San Rafael, California and accepted a position with the Bank of California in downtown San Francisco. He remained with the bank for 15 years and distinguished himself as a Vice President in the investment department. A new opportunity made itself available in San Diego where he worked and then retired in 1996. Following his retirement he became active in San Rafael Parish serving as Head Usher, Eucharist Minister, President of the Men's Club, Ministry Council Member, Building Fund Committee member and recipient of the Matthew 25: Recognition of Compassionate Service Medal from Catholic Charities, Diocese of San Diego in 2009.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Noel of San Diego, CA; son and daughter-in-law, James J. (Karen) Antoff of Sparks, NV; brother, Harley (Chris) Antoff of Winona, MN; Grandson Ryan and great-grandson Weston.  He is also survived by Elizabeth Antoff, the wife of his grandson Jeffre who preceded him in death in April 2024.

A funeral mass will be held at 10am, Thursday, March 13, 2025, at San Rafael Parish, 17252 Bernardo Center Drive, San Diego.  A committal service with military honors will follow at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, at 12:30pm.  A luncheon reception will take place back at the parish hall from 1:30 - 3:30-pm.
