Parker Lemon Jr.

John "Jack" Parker Lemon Jr. passed away in San Diego, CA on June 23, 2022 after more than a 3 year battle with Alzheimer's. He was 86 years old. He was born November 9, 1935 in Merced, CA to John & Barbara Lemon Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles and sisters Nancy & Sybil Susan.
He was raised in the Linda Vista community in San Diego and graduated from Kearney High School. While in high school he worked in the Linda Mart stores in Linda Vista. After graduation, he worked at Convair.
On April 26, 1958 he married the love of his life, Elaine Krupicka. Shortly after marrying, he went into the U.S. Army. He was honorable discharged after 4 years with the rank of Specialist.
After getting out of the service, Jack owned and operated the San Diego Pet Supply. Later he was a supervisor in production control at Solar Turbines for over 20 years.
His wife Elaine is of Czech heritage and love to dance the Polka and Waltz. It took years to get Jack on the dance floor, but once he did, Elaine couldn't get him off of it. Together they enjoyed dancing and traveling all over the western and mid states, going to dance festivals and dances. They even won a Waltz contest in the Midwest. Jack's favorite festival was the one held every year in Las Vegas. Over the years they made many dance friends from many states.
Jack was a member of the Poway Community Church and the German-American Club of Beaumont, CA. He was also a member of the Vixen Motor Home Club and loved to camp. Jack enjoyed all kinds of music and movies. He had a vast collection of albums and movies.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elaine; sons Steven of Texas and Kenneth of Poway, CA; daughter Christy McQuillen of Oregon; grandchildren Scott, Zarah, Roan & Briar and 3 great-grandchildren Nickolas, Wesley and Samantha of Ramona, CA.
Friends and family are invited to a viewing from 4-8pm, Friday July 29, 2022 at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary. A memorial service will be held at the Community Church of Poway at 12pm on Friday, August 19, 2022 with a committal service with military honors following at Miramar National Cemetery at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Community Church of Poway or Destiny Hospice.
