Joseph Allevato
1931-2019
Joseph Allevato, Rancho Bernardo, passed away Sunday evening January 6 th at 7:10 PM due to his ongoing illness of Cortecobasal Sydrome. Though it was a long process, we as a family were blessed to be able, for the most part, to care for him at home and share many wonderful days with him through the good and the bad. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Nadine Allevato and their 3 Children: Christina Payton, Cathy Allevato-Filippone and Daniel J. Allevato; his 3 grandchildren Mathew J. Allevato, who is in the Marine Corps, Caitlyne Filiponne and Cierra Filiponne, who is currently enrolled at MCU. Joseph was in the US Navy during the Korean war. He went to work for IBM as a tech specialist up until his retirement. He was loved by all of his clients! Joe's biggest passion in his life was tennis and ahhhh, tennis and yeah TENNIS! He coached his children on the game of tennis on and off the courts. He also volunteered at the Rancho Penasquitas Tennis Club to help coach the junior tennis team for several years. He loved watching tennis pretty much up to the day he passed away.
The rosary will be held at Poway-Bernardo Mortuary on Mon., Jan 14th at 6:30 P.M. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Tues. Jan 15 th at 10:45 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Lightbridge Hospice who were wonderful with my dad's care or to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church Building Fund. Www.olmcsandiego.org
