Obituary

Joseph P. Kuterbach, beloved son, brother, husband, and father, passed away on January 20, 2020 after an illness. He was born in Pennsylvania to Barbara and Joseph Kuterbach, and grew up in Linfield, PA. He graduated from Drexel University and Lehigh University with Bachelor 's and Master's degrees in Chemical Engineering.

Joseph married Ursula Bieniosek, and they both worked as engineers in Pennsylvania. They moved to Houston, Texas, where Joseph worked on petrochemical plants for LyondellBassell. Joseph accepted an executive position at Genomatica in San Diego to develop alternative processes to make chemicals from sustainable feedstocks. Upon completing his work there, he became a consultant for Kuterbach Consulting.

Joseph and Ursula had three children, Joe, James, and Elise. They shared many happy times together. Joseph enjoyed traveling, golf, and hiking. His family and friends cherish pleasant memories of him, and he is in eternal peace. He is survived by his wife Ursula, mother Barbara Kuterbach, his children Joe, James, and Elise, his brothers Michael Kuterbach of Pennsylvania, John Kuterbach of Alaska, and sister Deb O'Dell of Virginia.

A visitation will be held at Poway Bernardo Mortuary on February 3rd at 4pm. A funeral mass will be held at St Gregory the Great Church, San Diego, on February 4th.
