Kathleen Marie Omsberg, 81, died at her home in Scripps Ranch, October 13 after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was surrounded by her husband of 31 years, James Omsberg and her surviving 4 children.

Born Kathleen Marie Love in Milwaukee, WI July 30, 1938 to David W. and Marie C. Love.  The young family lived in Keil, WI until her father's passing in 1949, when Kathy's mother moved her and her older brother David to Fond Du Lac, WI. Kathy returned to Milwaukee to attend Marquette University.  There she met James Edward Borgstrom and got married Jan. 28, 1961.  They had 5 children, Julie Marie (deceased), James Philip, Mary Susan, Anne Louise, and John David.  After her husband James Borgstrom passed away in 1984, Kathy moved her family to San Diego August 1985.  Shortly after arriving she met James Richard Omsberg and the two married Sept. 3, 1988.  Kathy has 5 grandchildren, James, Kaitlin, and Kelly Benga, Mitchel Borgstrom, and Lauren Wisner.

Kathy lived a full, active life.  She was adored by her family and friends.  A very private person, she was extremely loyal and generous with her friends and family.  Her love of tennis, skiing and family provided many years of amazing memories for all who knew and loved her.  Kathy cherished the friendships she developed over the years in Scripps Ranch through Investment Club, Tennis League, Bridge Club and Book Club.  Her smile and wonderful sense of humor brought joy to all around her.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, November 8th at 11:00am, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Scripps Ranch.  Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
