Obituary

Kenneth Towers, 75, passed away on February 20, 2021 at his home in Rancho Penasquitos. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marsha, his sons, Timothy and Beau, sister, Laura Williamson (Tom), sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pamela and Danny Hill, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. He is predeceased by his brother, Gary, and his parents.

Ken was born in Liverpool, England on January 7, 1946 to William (Bill) and Marion Towers. His family moved to San Diego in 1957 when he was 11 years old and settled in Clairemont where he graduated from Clairemont High School in 1963. Ken remained life-long friends with many of his childhood Clairemont friends. He loved spending time with them remembering and reminiscing. Ken proudly became a Naturalized U.S. Citizen on his 20th birthday in 1966. Soon thereafter, he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served from 1966-68. He was initially stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia, then briefly served in Vietnam in 1967, and ultimately was stationed at Fort Ord, California before being honorably discharged in 1968.

Ken worked for Pacific Southwest Airlines (PSA) in San Diego for 16 years and also remained life-long friends with his closest PSA co-workers. After leaving PSA, he entered the real estate field and worked as a Residential Realtor and Property Manager for 36 years. Ken and Marsha were married on January 14, 1967. After living many years in Clairemont they moved to a new home in Rancho Penasquitos and were blessed with two sons, Timothy and Beau, in 1977 and 1979.

Ken loved soccer and played for many years in a North County Adult League. He avidly followed his hometown English Premier League soccer team, the Liverpool Football Club (LFC). He sponsored many of his sons' soccer and baseball teams and enjoyed coaching and participating as a volunteer as well. Being a sports fan, Ken enjoyed following the San Diego Chargers and Padres. He was also very much a San Diego State Aztecs fan and in recent years attended the football games as a season ticket holder.

Ken was a devoted husband and father, a great brother, a wonderful uncle to his many nieces and nephews, and a great friend to many. Ken loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was eternally optimistic through good times and bad. Most of all he loved his family, his friends, and his country. He will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
