Larry Lane Wilson was born on January 15, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa to Lane and Ethel Wilson. He and his bride Charlene Shaw were married on June 30, 1959 and were fortunate to spend 61 wonderful years together. They moved to California in 1961 and have been calling Poway their home since 1976.

In 1961, Larry graduated from Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was a brother of Zeta Psi Fraternity. He always knew he wanted to be an engineer and spent his career doing just that, first in aerospace and then in medicine.

On March 8, 2021 surrounded by his entire family, Larry passed away peacefully as a result of COPD, which he had battled for much of his life. However, that did not stop him from his many passions such as woodworking, building clocks, riding dirt bikes in the desert, boating on Lake Havasu and enjoying a beer with his neighbors. Larry was a loving father of two, Carol (Dave) and Jeff (Kimberley), and grandpa and great-grandpa to R.J. (Angel), Rachael, Shane, Cierra (David), Brayden, Camden and Helena. He is survived by his wife Charlene as well as his children and grandchildren.
