Lawrence (Larry) Alan Black passed away in San Diego, CA after a long term illness on March 6, 2023. He was 66 years old. Larry was born in San Diego on October 5, 1956, to Neil and Joyce Black.

Larry spent 25 years working in the wine industry as a vineyard manager and a large equipment mechanic in Napa, CA. He loved being outdoors and in the presence of animals. Larry volunteered at Joan Embry's Pillsbury Ranch, and being a master mechanic, he restored several of the Land Rovers on her ranch. Gardening was one of his favorite hobbies, but, he was most proud of the work he did mentoring children.

Larry is survived by his wife of 16 years, Marla Black of Poway, CA.; son and daughter-in-law Lawrence Jr. "LJ" & Alyssa Black of Napa, Ca; stepson Brandon (Katie) Blom of San Marcos, CA and stepdaughter Megan Blom of San Diego, CA; sisters Tracy Gonzalez and Kim McKee and three grandchildren, Roland, Zoe & Brody.

Because of his love for Hawaii, Larry will be scattered at sea in the Hawaiian islands.
