Obituary

Linda Santogeanis Malott

Linda passed away peacefully July 15, 2021 after a long fought battle with cancer. She was born September 24, 1946 in Woburn, Massachusetts to parents Paul and Lorraine Santogeanis. In 1950 the family moved across the country to California and eventually settled in San Dimas. Many of Linda's favorite childhood memories are of the many, many trips she made with her mother and two sisters to the beach at Corona del Mar. Although it took quite a while traveling from San Dimas to the beach at that time, it was a trip they made often and created some of Linda's happiest memories and developed her lifelong love of the ocean. Linda graduated from Bonita High School where again she shared many happy memories with her family of the friends she made, football games, dances, being a Song Leader as well as being a Homecoming Princess. She met her first husband Richard Crow at an eighth grade dance and they remained friends throughout high school. Their friendship became love at the end of their senior year and they married shortly after graduation. Together they shared their love of travel and adventure. They became a military family, with their daughter Lori and lived in many parts of the United States as well as living abroad in Italy and Mexico. Richard preceded Linda in death after 47 years of marriage. Linda was blessed with love and a second marriage to Stephen Malott. Together they embarked on new adventures, traveling the world and exploring new and exciting places Linda had been dreaming about since she was a little girl, including France, Greece, Spain, Alaska, Hawaii and the Caribbean. They created a beautiful home and life in Escondido California. Linda often expressed how lucky she felt to have met and married Steve, he was her "anchor and her rock" as well as being her unwavering support and full time caregiver at the end of her life. Linda was an active member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Cardiff, CA. She loved volunteering at the annual Greek Festival as well as being active in the Philoptochos Organization. She was a great cook, loved celebrating all the holidays with her family and had a wonderful sense of style and an eye for fashion. Fashion was her passion! When asked what she wanted on her tombstone all she really wanted it to say was "She was an Adventurer." She sure was.

Linda is survived by her husband Stephen Malott; a daughter and son in law Lori And Donnie Thomas; three grandchildren and a grand-son in law: Hayley & Noyan Suel, Ryan Thomas, and Zachary Thomas; two great grandchildren Wendy & Holden and there is a third great grand on the way. She is also survived by her two sisters Paula Santogeanis, and Susan Ruggles and her brother in law Philip Ruggles; nieces April Rees, Rebekah Vonderhellen, and Holly Weil; nephews Greg Rimpau and Sean Gerson, as well as many great nieces and nephews, cousins and lifelong friends she loved dearly.
