Lynn Erwin Nelson, 78, passed away at his home in San Diego, CA on November 4, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in San Diego, CA on August 11, 1946 to Lynn and Irene Nelson.  A native of San Diego, Lynn lived in the county most of his life, only leaving for a 6 year span in Colorado.

At the age of 16, Lynn began learning and working as a plumber.  Retiring after 62 years, he was a true craftsman of the trade.  He loved his work and had many loyal customers over the years.

When he wasn't busy working, Lynn enjoyed hot rods, racing and oldies music.  Time spent in the yard gardening was a favorite for him.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Nelson; son Steve Bassett of Monument, CO., daughter Tami (Brian) Heimburge of San Diego, CA., son Joseph Nelson of Fresno, CA., daughter Jennifer (Justin) Bradley of Aledo, TX., his mother Irene Nelson of San Diego, CA., sisters Debbie Hunter of San Diego, CA and Jo (Don) Osborne of Banning, CA., 8 grandchildren Chloe, Vaughn, Blake, Shane, Aspen, Kaden, Gavin and Nevaeh.
