Lysbeth Brooks Wakefield

August 18, 1940 - December 21, 2020

SAN DIEGO - Lysbeth Wakefield was born in Clayton, Georgia and was the youngest of two brothers and one sister. Lys was known for her bright smile and warm nature.

In 1960, Lys wed Air Force officer Bob Wakefield, and she went on to make a lovely home for her family across many Air Force and Marine Corps duty stations. After having a daughter, Vicki, and a son, Scott, Lys finally settled in San Diego, California, and had a long real estate and mortgage loan officer career. Lys stayed active playing bridge and becoming the Commodore of the Polaris Sailing Society.

Lys is survived by her daughter Vicki and husband Dennis Conway; by her son Scott and his wife Margie Wakefield; by her grandchildren: Brittany Knox, Allison and Jet Savoy, and Aaron Conway; and by her great-grandchildren: Gracie, Eila and Tatum Knox.

Lys fought valiantly against a very brief bout of COVID. No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Parkininson's Foundation, www.parkinson.org .
