Obituary

Marie Anesti Philpot was born on September 15, 1923 in New Bedford, Massachusetts to Charles and Anastasia Anesti.  Marie grew up in Fairhaven, Massachusetts with her three siblings, Helen, Lucy, and Ernest.

Marie graduated from New Bedford Vocational School in 1940.  While in school she helped run the family restaurant and grocery store, The Bee Hive and The Busy Bee and worked for a garden nursery, cultivating her "green thumb".

Marie started working for the FBI in 1945 as a fingerprint analyst in the identification division.  She was also commended for her work in counterespionage as a translator for Greek, Turkish, and Portuguese.  While at the FBI, she met her future husband, Bill, and were married in 1950.  Bill and Marie lived in many states and abroad including England and Bermuda during Bill's service in the Air Force.  Marie spent much of her time as a homemaker raising her three children and being active in her church and community.  She loved painting, singing, playing the piano, and gardening. She and Bill moved to San Diego, California in 1995 to help raise two of their grandchildren, Harrison and Kassie.

This hardworking, talented and giving woman died at her home on April 24, 2019.  Marie is survived by daughters, Connie Parker and Ellen Philpot, son, Bill Philpot and his wife, Robin, and grandchildren, Pastor Harrison Parker and his wife, Stacey, Kassie Parker, Bobby Philpot, and Tony Philpot.
