Marti Leigh
Norris-Guajardo
September 11, 2006 – August 15, 2025
Marti Norris, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece, and friend, passed unexpectedly on August 15, 2025. Born on September 11, 2006, at Pomerado Hospital in Poway, California, Marti was the youngest child in her family, the baby on both sides, and from the very beginning she lit every room with her voice, imagination, and boundless energy.
Always talking, always running a mile a minute, Marti's silliness and vibrant personality made her the heart of the family. She carried within her both a sharp intelligence and a joyful spirit, forever dreaming, creating, and keeping everyone on their toes.
Marti's love for animals was evident from the start. She began riding horses at just three years old, and that passion became her life's calling. From chickens, dogs, goats, and every creature she cared for, to the horses she showed and cherished, Marti's compassion for animals was limitless. Her dedication to the equestrian world led her to become a multi world champion in Saddle Seat and Driving, with hundreds of victory passes and ribbons to her name. She was no stranger to the victory lane, yet always remained humble and deeply connected to the animals she partnered with.
She attended Pomerado Elementary School, where she participated in the chess club and countless performances, later studying at Innovations Academy, Classical Academy, and Ramona High. A bookworm at heart, she loved diving into books such as Wings of Fire, which she shared with her cousin Nate. She loved to swim, play games with her family, work on puzzles, and spend cherished evenings watching Hawaii Five-0 with her Nana while snacking on popcorn.
Outside of the arena, Marti's adventurous spirit shined. She fell in love with cars, especially her Mustang, which gave her another lane to chase joy and freedom.
Marti will be remembered for her laughter, her kindness, her victories, her wild imagination, and above all, the way she brought love and energy into the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Her light burned brightly and far too quickly, but it will continue to shine in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who loved her.
